About
the Record

Slow Light began as a field recording project — Maren capturing the sound of her apartment's radiator at dawn, the hum of fluorescent lights in the corridor outside Studio Grótta, the particular silence of an Icelandic winter morning at 11 a.m. when it's still dark.

"I wanted to make a record that sounded the way slow light feels — those moments where time stretches, where you notice the grain of things. The tape machine was running for nine months before I realized it was already the album."

Mixed by Ólafur Kári at Sundlaugin Studio. Mastered by Heba Kadry in Brooklyn. The vinyl pressing — 180g, translucent smoke — ships from a plant in Ålgård, Norway. Limited to 2,000 copies. No repress planned.
